The Feral Cat Assistance Program (FCAP) is announcing a change of location for its August 23rd rabies vaccination clinic. The new clinic location will be at Pet Supplies Plus, 2924 High Point Road in Greensboro.  Hours of operation will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  Rabies vaccinations will be administered by Guilford County Department of Public Health’s Animal Control officers.  The cost for the vaccine is $5.00 per animal.  The vaccine is valid for one year.  For more information, contact FCAP at 378-0878.         Guilford County Department of Public Health is alerting residents that a bat removed from a residence in Greensboro tested positive for the rabies virus.  This is the fifteenth case of rabies in Guilford County this year.  The bat was picked up by Guilford County Animal Control on 7/23/08 and tested positive on 7/24/08.  This is the first positive rabies case involving a bat this year.  Four people and four domestic animals were exposed.            Guilford County Department of Public Health is alerting residents that a kitten found on Lake Brandt Road in Summerfield, located in northern Guilford County, tested positive for the rabies virus yesterday, July 16.  This is the fourteenth confirmed case of rabies in Guilford County this year. Guilford County Department of Public Health will be holding special back to school immunization clinics for children and college students.  The clinics will be held at the 1100 East Wendover Avenue, Greensboro location and at 501 East Green Drive in High Point on Tuesday, August 12, Tuesday, August 19 and Tuesday, August 26 during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please call 641-5563 in Greensboro or 845-7699 in High Point to schedule an appointment. Please bring birth certificate, social security card, and current shot record in order to receive services.  (more…)
