According to wildlife experts across North Carolina, the bear population has increased in recent years.  More bears coupled with new construction can generate movement of these animals into urban areas as they forage for food.  Bear sightings continue to be reported to Guilford County Department of Public Health’s Animal Control office. Guilford County Department of Public Health’s Smart Girls Skills Training Educators received The Business Journal’s Health Care Heroes Award in the Educator category. The presentation was made on June 25, 2009 at the Fourth Annual Health Care Heroes event at Revolution Mill in Greensboro. The award was also sponsored by First Citizens Bank, and co-sponsored by MAG Mutual. Smart Girls’ Educators Wanda Mackey, Laura Mrosla and Jean Workman each accepted individual awards. (more…)
