In 2008, Guilford County Department of Public announced receipt of a Duke Endowment grant to create an educational campaign called “Don’t Wait…Educate!” on the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the HPV vaccine. During Phase I of the grant, educational programs were presented to parents and educators at the middle school level, healthcare providers, and teens/pre-teens through community-based organizations, successfully reaching over 3,500 adults and youth in Guilford County.
