Guilford County Department of Public Health is alerting residents that a raccoon found on Forest Hill Drive in Greensboro tested positive for the rabies virus on July 20, 2012. This is the eleventh case of confirmed rabies in 2012. The raccoon was found in the family’s backyard and exposed two dogs but no humans. |

The Warnersville Farmer’s Market is hosting a Peachy Treats Contest on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Local cooks are invited to bring their tastiest peach creations for a contest celebrating this year’s peach crop. The event will be held Thursday, July 19, at 3:00 p.m. on the front lawn of J.C. Price School, 400 West Whittington Street in Greensboro. Check-in for peach entries will begin at 3:00 p.m. and judging will begin at 4:00 p.m. The contest is free to enter and is open to the public. The top three winners will receive gift cards from local stores and gifts from our vendors.
