The Guilford County Department of Public Health is assisting the Carolina Kennel Club in celebrating American Kennel Club Responsible Ownership Day on September 6, 2008. This event will be located at Lindley Park (adjacent to the Arboretum) from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A FREE rabies vaccination clinic is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Other activities and information such as basic obedience, fly ball, a K-9 Police Unit, first aid for dogs, contests and opportunities to meet various purebred rescue groups are scheduled for the day.
An additional low-cost rabies vaccination clinic will be offered by the Guilford County Department of Public Health on September 6, 2008 at Fire District #28, 6619 NC 61 North in Gibsonville. This clinic is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The cost is five dollar ($5.00) and will protect the animal for one calendar year.Â
Several community groups are partnering to support animal activities in September in honor of World Rabies Day. World Rabies Day is September 28, 2008.
