Guilford County purchases all products and services on a best value basis only; without regard to supplier’s size, race, sex, creed, or national origin. Creating a competitive environment, Guilford County provides an opportunity for suppliers to sell their products and services.
There are basically two ways to sell to Guilford County.
- One is through the bidding process where the lowest responsible, responsive bidder is awarded a contract.
- The other way to sell products and services to Guilford County is through the search bid process. This is where the buyer obtains at least three documented quotes. These purchases are usually based on the buyer’s knowledge of the market, product, vendor performance and may range up to $30,000.
Before a vendor (minority or other) can do business with Guilford County, they must register their business with Guilford County at http://www.co.guilford.nc.us/sourcing. Once registered, the supplier is listed as a future source of supply for Guilford County to purchase products and services when or if the need arises.
