Important Browser Information:

Each of these programs utilizes a Java applet to extract the desired record and display it on your screen. For this reason, it is recommended that you download the most current version of Netscape or Internet Explorer via the links below. It is highly recommended that users employ Internet Explorer 6, Service Pack 1, for connections, as this browser stores the applet on your hard drive, thus expediting future connections to the database. Internet Explorer users may need to install a Java plug-in. As part of its settlement with Sun Microsystems, Microsoft no longer makes this software available for download from their site. Some of the more recent versions of the Windows XP operating system have run into problems with Java applets. One option you may wish to try is:

• Go to the following Web site to download the older version of Microsoft Java Virtual Machine: http://www.mvision.mpsnet.com. Skip the login. Click on "Microsoft Java VM Update." Perform the version test. This will check for the basic VM and install an older version onto XP if one is not already present.
• Once you have installed Microsoft VM and have re-booted your machine, you will need to go to the Microsoft update site: http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. Scan for updates. Review and install all the updates you do not currently have. Be sure to install the security updates for Microsoft VM.
• When the updates are complete, you will need to re-boot once more. After re-booting you will have the most current available Virtual Machine for XP. If you are still experiencing problems connecting: open the Web browser (instructions are for Internet Explorer), click on Tools, Internet Options then the Advanced tab. Scroll down the list and uncheck "Use Sun Java 1.4" if present and checked. Close the browser, reopen and retry the web page.

Netscape users:You must install a security certificate from Guilford County to access the Appraisal & Listing System and the Tax/Register of Deeds Index System. Click in the check box next to "Accept this Certificate Authority for Certifying software developers." Then when prompted for a name enter Guilford County.

Appraisal & Listing Systems

Via this link you may look up Guilford County Appraisal or Listing information by the name of the property owner, the street address, or the parcel number. The Appraisal system provides detailed information collected by the Tax Department on each parcel of property throughout the county. It shows information such as: owner, property address, legal description, land, buildings, outbuildings, and sales.

After the applet has been loaded, make your selection from the menu provided. Navigation in the software is accomplished by pressing the F1 through F8 keys on your keyboard that correspond to the 8 boxes at the bottom of the screen. Pressing the F8 key will always let you exit the program.

This link enables you to look up Guilford County tax collection records by the name of the property owner.

Tax/Register of Deeds Index System
